ROCK- Reaching Out to make Christ Known

ROCK Street Chaplains exist to provide practical and spiritual help to those out on the streets on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evening in Dundee city centre and in Broughty Ferry on a Friday night.

We hand out lollies and leaflets to those going to clubs, provide flip-flops to girls without shoes, water to those very drunk and help people to get home safely at the end of the night. We also work with the homeless, providing hot drinks and foil blankets to keep them warm. Once a month we meet outside the Steeple Church to provide hot drinks to those going out.

We converse to those out about Christ and what He has done for us- whether those who are out partying, bouncers, police, PR and bar staff. The three main messages we put across to people are:

  1. We serve a living God who is able to intervene in peoples lives.
  2. The importance of the church in Dundee working together to meet peoples needs where they are at, without judging them.
  3. The importance of Churches working with other community groups to work together and effect change.

Whether it's raining, snowing or clear we will be out on the streets.
